| All my life I did what was expected of me. I took college prep honors courses in high school, graduated in the top 1% of my class, went on to a private, catholic women’s college and received my BA in Business Management, took a corporate job, climbed up the corporate ladder and became a high powered corporate executive. I have always been an independent person, relying on none other than myself, so my drive and ambition was to make as much money as possible, as I thought what would make me successful, financially independent, and happy. Two out of the three isn’t bad, right? Wrong.
After becoming a top performer in the corporate world, and striving to never fail, my health started to suffer (migraines and high blood pressure). All I did was work…there was never any time for me. Finally I snapped. I had enough. I did some soul searching, and decided the money wasn’t important anymore. I retired from corporate America at 37, and haven’t looked back since. It was the best decision I ever made. I took a year off, and thought long and hard about what the next phase of my life should be. I’ve always wanted to have my own business, and I always had a knack for massage, so I decided to take a massage therapy certification course. I researched several schools, went to receive massages at a few of them, LOVED the DoveStar massage the best, and really liked the DoveStar philosophy, so I enrolled in the Kriya Massage Practioner Program. Being at DoveStar helped me to trust my intuition and trust in myself. DoveStar has been a very nurturing ad empowering place for me. There is no judgment, and I have been encouraged to follow my heart, dreams, and intuition. Since beginning my DoveStar experience, I have not had a cold or been physically sick. I have become a more well-rounded person, leveraging both my linear thinking side and my creative intuitive side. I have extreme confidence in my ability to be a successful massage therapist running my own business, and I thank everyone at DoveStar for all the new tools I have received to help make my dreams into reality.
